From a heavy industry to a measured one.
Construction is responsible for 38% of global CO2 emissions. We do not pretend that building things is clean. Instead, we count every tonne, publish the ledger, and engineer the number down, year after year, contract after contract, pour after pour.
Net-zero by 2040
A validated, science-based pathway from the heaviest industry in Europe to verified net-zero operations within fifteen years.
Baseline measurement started
First group-wide carbon audit across all operations. Established Scope 1, 2, and 3 baseline against which all future reductions are measured.
SBTi targets validated
Science Based Targets initiative validated Hextal's near-term and net-zero targets. Carbon intensity reduced by 61% versus 2007 baseline.
Target: -75% carbon intensity
Interim target of 75% reduction in embedded carbon per euro of revenue. Driven by CB-7 adoption, fleet electrification, and renewable energy procurement.
Net-zero operations
Full net-zero across Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. Residual emissions offset through verified carbon removal, not avoidance credits.
The open carbon ledger
Every tonne of CO2e is tracked against every euro of revenue, in every contract, every quarter, since 2007. The full ledger is open to our shareholders, our regulators, and our future.
CB-7 recycled concrete blend
Hextal's proprietary CB-7 concrete blend replaces virgin aggregate with 34% recycled content from demolition waste, without compromising structural performance. EN 206 certified and deployed on major infrastructure programmes.
Net positive biodiversity
From 2026, every Hextal project is required to deliver net positive biodiversity outcomes. We work with local ecology institutes to survey habitats before breaking ground and to design interventions that leave sites ecologically richer than we found them.
Across construction corridors, quarries, and completed sites throughout Northern and Southern Europe.
All new projects must deliver measurable biodiversity gains, verified by independent ecological assessors.
UN Sustainable Development Goals
Hextal maps its sustainability strategy to four primary SDGs where our operations have the most material impact and the greatest capacity to drive meaningful change.
SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
EUR 18.4B invested annually in resilient infrastructure. Hextal/Lab drives innovation with digital twins, autonomous surveying, and predictive maintenance across 2,140 active projects.
SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
Hospitals, transit systems, flood defences, and social housing. Hextal delivers the physical fabric of liveable cities, from the Lisbon Metro to the Warsaw hospital programme.
SDG 13: Climate Action
SBTi-validated net-zero by 2040. 61% carbon intensity reduction since 2007. Open carbon ledger audited quarterly by Mazars. CB-7 recycled concrete deployed on major programmes.
SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation
Water treatment, desalination, and flood defence across 14 countries. Including the Eemshaven coastal programme and three major European river delta management contracts.

All sustainability reports are independently audited and publicly available. We believe transparency is a discipline, not a disclosure requirement.
