Concrete Mix Chemist — Sustainability

About the role

You will advance Hextal's proprietary CB-7 recycled concrete blend within the group sustainability and R&D function. Working from the Rotterdam laboratory, you will optimise mix designs for structural applications, validate performance against EN 206 standards, and collaborate with project teams to deploy low-carbon concrete across major programmes including the Brenner Tunnel and Maasvlakte III.

What we are looking for

  • MSc or PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, or Concrete Technology
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in concrete mix design, testing, or cementitious materials research
  • Expert knowledge of EN 206 and EN 13791 standards for concrete specification and testing
  • Experience with supplementary cementitious materials, recycled aggregates, or alternative binders
  • Published research in peer-reviewed journals related to sustainable concrete is an advantage
  • Fluent English; Dutch language skills are an advantage

Salary
